Dr. Street graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management and Organizational Behavior and a minor in Chemistry from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in December 1995. He then graduated Magna Cum Laude in May 2000 with a Doctor of Optometry Degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry. His rotations during his last year of Optometry school gave him a broad range of experience that he is proud to be able to provide to his patients. He was trained in ocular disease management of many conditions including treating eye infections, removal of foreign body or debris that gets into the eye, monitoring and co-managing cataract surgery, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, any many others. He also has up to date training on contact lenses, laser surgery co-management, pediatric optometry, and low vision rehabilitation.
Dr. Street began practicing optometry in Poplar Bluff, MO upon graduation. After two years of practicing there, he had the opportunity to move to his hometown, Farmington, and became partners with Dr. Shelton Sago in August 2002. Dr. Street bought out Dr. Sago in 2017 and is now the sole owner of the practice. Dr. Street also works for a company called Corizon where he provides eye care to the Missouri Department of Corrections Inmates. He is also on Staff at the Missouri Department of Mental Health to provide vision services to their patients. In addition, Dr. Street has worked as a consultant for a contact lens company call Vistakon (a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson). Dr. Street works with Vistakon to help test new contact lens technology and to launch new contact lens product releases.
Dr. Street married his wife Jennifer on July 1, 2000. Jennifer is also a Farmington native and has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis School of Business. They have a son Grayson Tanner Roth Street who was born in January 2007. They are members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Farmington.
Dr. Street is a member of the Farmington Chamber of Commerce, American Optometric Association (AOA), the Missouri Optometric Association (MOA), the Southeast Optometric Society, Beta Sigma Kappa (an honors optometric fraternity), and Beta Gamma Sigma (a honors business fraternity) and a member of the National Rifle Associaiton.
Dr. Street is an avid golfer, fisherman, and enjoys antique cars and guns. He is also an amateur carpenter and enjoys working with his hands. Dr. Street always has some type of project that is going on. He designed the cabinet layout and tile floor layout that was done in our frame room display when we remodeled our office.
Dr. Shelton K. Sago graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1979. He was a member of the inaugural graduating class of the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry, where he graduated with his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1984. He is well trained in areas of primary eye care and ocular disease management. He is able to treat eye infections, cataracts, and monitor diabetic patients for diabetic retinopathy. He also co-manages cataract surgeries and LASIK surgeries. With 30 plus years of experience, this is just a sample of many of the patient services Dr. Sago can provide.
Dr. Sago has practiced in Farmington, MO since he graduated in 1984. He is native to the area and grew up in Flat River (which is now known as Park Hills). He is also currently on staff for the Missouri Department of Mental Health to provide vision services to their patients.
Dr. Sago referees high school football and basketball games, which he has done for the past 30 plus years. He is also the regional director for the annual rules meetings for the coaches and other referees.
Dr.Sago has two children. Stuart Sago, who graduated from Lindenwood University on a football scholarship with a Masters in Business Administration Degree and is now a Drug Representative in St. Louis. Natalie Sago played in college on a softball scholarship at Dury University and then transferred to the University of Missouri-St Louis where she Graduated with an Education Degree. She is currently a full time referee for D-League Basketball series which is the minor league for the NBA.
Dr. Sago is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), the Missouri Optometric Association (MOA), and the Southeast Optometric Society.
Dr. Sago is an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman, and sports enthusiast. Dr. Sago has recently renewed his interest in hunting. On his days off you can usually find him down on his “farm,” as he calls it, working on food plots and building a hunting camp on his land in Womack, MO.
